FIVE CARE TIPS

The number five has a special significance at CHANEL: Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite digit, the name of our first perfume, and our number of recommendations to keep your CHANEL costume jewellery in best condition.

Handle your jewellery with care. As a rule apply perfume and makeup before putting on jewellery as certain chemicals found in cosmetic products may discolour, stain or damage the piece. More advice in boutique.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, artificial light, and moisture. Should your piece of jewellery come into contact with water, we recommend drying it carefully with an absorbent non-pilling cloth. More advice in boutique.

To preserve the shine on your jewellery, rub regularly with a soft cloth. Do not clean with water, soap, detergent, or any other chemical product or solution, as these could damage or rust the metal finish or discolour the piece. More advice in boutique.

Pieces of jewellery may scratch upon contact with one another. We strongly recommend that you store and transport pieces of jewellery individually in the pouch provided. More advice in boutique.

Depending on how regularly you wear it and how you care for it, your piece of jewellery will change over time. Appreciate the natural patina that develops. The patina is inherent to the life of the piece. Day after day it will reveal a new aspect of the piece’s beauty, and of its history... and yours. More advice in boutique.
